Here a few figs I took a pic of to compare aesthetics.  Starting at the top right and going clockwise: Blue Celeste, unknown Celeste, Sal's, Black Greek Kios, Conadria (top left and center.)

I'm still amazed how flavorful and sweet even the skin is for the Blue Celeste.  And the skin is thin and tender.  Most figs I've had the skin is pretty bland and flavorless and sometimes leathery.  This fig has been my favorite fig by far this fig season.

Anybody else having positive experiences with Blue Celeste?

Fully ripe green & black figs off the same tree.  Do they taste the same as each other?  They look great?

Thanks for posting. Thin skin is music to my ears! Any idea the original source for your Blue Celeste? There are millions of celestes, wouldn't be surprised if there are different blue celestes or different nurseries mixin em up with regular celeste. No complaints of dropping a bunch of the fruit either? Sounds great :) I can definitely appreciate the blue. The classic celeste on the bottom right with the more ashy purple is the one I've sampled before.

My Blue Celeste came from Herman2 directly.  Maybe he can chime in on his source.  I have had it for a few years and it tastes and grows differently than my other Celestes.

Jon were you stating that the "unknown" Celeste looks like a "regular" Celeste (I would agree with that, too) or that my "Blue" Celeste looks like a regular Celeste?

(regardless of your answer, my Blue definitely tastes superior and has different skin attributes than my other Celeste variants under identical growing conditions.)
