Been on travel for two weeks, but came back to a some fresh figs and made jam last night! Looking for dark sweet types from Azores and southern Spain (figs, not women), 2014 goal is to acquire Kathleen Black

Looks delicious. I've never tried those gasket seals, but I like the look of them. gram used those gaskets, always with good results. thanks forshowing us your work. __________________ susie wish list: nothing. i can't grow cuttings . right now, i have 6 trees showing no signs of fmv. i'd like to keep it that way' i was told that if i couldn't deal with fmv, i should grow peaches, so i got a peach tree to live with my clean figs.

Looks good! I've only made whole fig preserves but I think I will try my hand at making fig jam if I'm able to get anymore figs this year. =) Where did you get those gaskets? Love it! I brought back some of those gasket type jars from Austria the last time I visited. I haven't tried them out yet but I love the looks of them. Mine aren't tall but stubby. I did find that Lehmans has them... They are located in Ohio and sell mostly to the Amish communities but their online site is great and I've ordered from them numerous times. https://www.lehmans.com/p-2374-1-5-liter-canning-jars.aspx __________________ Sophie~ Sophies Choices: Sultane, Sal's , Hardy Chicago and varieties suitable to z7b...not too picky at this point since we are still a fig growing virgin!

That's wonderful ! canning and preserving are making a come-back. It just makes good sense. When people see what you're doing it makes an impression. I am figless this year but have high hopes for next year.
