It's hard to believe but I think I might end up with more Black Maderia than Negronne this year.  The Emerald Strawberry was off the radar but ended up producing a good amount of figs and giving me a chance to see how long I can keep them on the tree to get peek flavor.  The cooler temps are already changing the characteristics of the figs.  The Black Madeira skin seems tougher and a cold fig does not seem as sweet as a fig warmed in the sun.

wish list:  nothing. i can't grow cuttings  . right now, i have  6 trees showing no signs of fmv. i'd like to keep it that way'

i was told that if i couldn't deal with fmv, i should grow peaches, so i got a peach tree to live with my clean figs.

Those look really good.

I might have to go outside to see what's for breakfast, though I doubt I'll find anything that yummy this morning. :)

A good "problem" to have, too many Black Madeira lol! Cooler weather sure is refreshing, but it's not very good for my Black Madeira which has not yet begun to swell

I had the Emerald strawberry and Madeira protected inside.  I grow all my figs in pots.  I left my oldest Negronne outside and I don't think I will get any ripe figs from it because it took to long to wake up and I think it suffered root damage.  I have some extra HC and Marseilles vs Black I might put in the ground to see if the survive.  I think I get some protection from being closer to the ocean so that it is 6b.
