Fig ID please..Update 10-1-13

I found this fig last year in an old Italian community. The now owner knows nothing about it. It grows unprotected and will often die back to the ground. The only thing I remember about the taste is that it was pretty sweet with a slight berry taste. Art, that looks the same as the one I got from my neighbor last year. They had no idea what it was either, just that their Italian immigrant uncle planted it their in the early '70s and enjoyed a lot of wine sitting in it's shade. That's what makes it hard to ID is the leaf pattern. If I had it sitting beside my Hardy Chicago, I wouldn't know which was which. Don't see many white figs with that type of leaf. __________________ Art- Western Pa. 6a

Just as you describe yours, Art. Sweet, but with a pleasant berry taste. My mother-in-law's tree (which Tony also has a chunk of) came to be in Pittsburgh when my father-in-law dug it out of her old yard in Ellwood City after her dad died. Well there's a reason I couldn't figure out what this fig was. With this leaf pattern. It's not a white fig. I guess since I found it late last year it never turned dark. So anybody that I sent extra cuttings to, that were labeled white unk. This is what you got. I will post more pictures in the next few days.
