Hardy Chicago has been very consistent and very tasty this year in my climate, followed closely by Malta Black. Even during the rainy half of the summer they were still good and did not split. They are not the best tasting according to both my wife and I. That is still being determined, which I will post at a later date.

Hi Goss. Hope all is well.
My HC is four years old. I try to leave them on the tree a little
longer than the pics were. Your right, not great but good.

Perhaps with larger harvests it would be a fine candidate for fig wine?

My HC has been great, I let them hang on the tree much longer though. I do have to put a baggie on them to stop the wasps and hornets when they get about to the stage the ones in the pics are at.

Lots of reddish bronze color in those figs. Here ours get more violet /purplish and are not good but great but thats my palate. Thinking there is more than 1 strain perhaps.
