Thanks for the response and the welcome. I've attached the front and back of the leave. Second photo is behind the same leaf. I appreciate your help,

Greetings, I'm no expert but it looks a lot like a Kadota to me. The figs seem a little small but that could just be cause it is young.. Welcome to the F4F forum, got my start with figs on the clearance rack a Loews...and been figgy with it ever since...

Thanks for the response! Indeed it was tasty. Had like a Kiwi flavor to it. My wife and I really enjoyed it. Can't wait for the other small one until its ready.

Everybody - thank you for the responses. For some reason I wasn't getting any notifications of your responses. My apologies. I'm looking at the Fig Variety Viewer and for the Verte it says a seedless type variety, however, it was full of seeds and the figs are relatively small but then again it is a young tree that I got from a small nursery earlier this year (May/June). Other than the seedless part, everything else on the Verte was point on. I looked at the Geonoa and the flesh color appeared to be different than what I had as the Geonoa has a lighter flesh.

Hi abjones, I was curious to see if you ever identified your fig. Green figs with the deep red centers look so good in pics! I bought an unk. white greek? variety from eBay recently; hope it turns out to be a decent green fig. I've never grown 'Verte,' so I don't mean to second-guess the others, but I thought your fruit shape and leaf looked a lot like Dennis' 'Green Greek' posted earlier in the season:http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/?id=4905175 PS> That closed eye is pretty outstanding...can barely tell it even has one.

I'm slowly narrowing it down LOL. I looked at the pics of the Dennis Green Greek, the flesh/inside looks extremely similar to mine. The skin looks a tad bit lighter but I am trying to compare the leaf. Is the fruit typically small?

In some ways it looks like Verte. (Many similarities... the leaf, your flavor description, appearance of flesh, appearance of pulp, appearance of the skin, the void in the center (although my own Verte didn't have much noticeable void, others such as the ones in Jon's varieties pages do). But in other ways it looks different from Verte, for example: the eye (Verte has a noticeable eye, but unless your photo of two halves is from two different figs (each leaving out the eye), the eye on yours is hard to find). the size of the fruit (yours seems on the small side... lots of things could account for that however) Here's a link with some photos of Verte: http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/verte-6581727?highlight=verte You can also find phots in Jon's varieties pages. Maybe some of the real experts at identification will chime in. Good luck. Mike central NY state, zone 5a

Green Greek is listed as "medium" at Durio.
