Thanks Rafed...I've heard you state on several posts how your fig collection helps you to relax and unwind from the daily stressers of life...I'm in full agreement...usually I'm out in my back yard very early in the morning, sometimes 6:am or earlier, when it's just me, the birds, and the fig trees...as far as I'm concerned it's the best way to start the day.

Yes, they are very relaxing. Especially when you get up very early with coffee in hand and the inground sprinklers are going. I'll send you a PM about something in a minute.

Vince, your backyard looks INCREDIBLE! Nice and neat and well groomed--beautiful. Your orchard is very cool, I'd love to be your neighbor or even just come taste a few figs lol.

Hi Vince Very nice and neat. We can all appreciate that. I see the Bill's figs pots, they get really heavy. He has built a nice dolly that he sells for transporting them but you need a wide door to the shed. Good luck, I always enjoy watching your videos

Vince, your plants look very healthy. Sad you lost your in ground trees, hope the 30 varieties you kept contain your favorites. I can see why you downsized if all of those have to be moved for the winter. I agree with the relaxing feeling you get spending time with figs. I look at mine in the morning and evening as a kind of meditation.

Thanks for the video. Nice trees. Loved the sound of the mourning dove in the background. 'Surveying the garden kingdom' first thing in the morning when the air is still and cool and quiet is a wonderful thing. :)

Nice video. Thanks for posting. It's always good to show the wife that she didn't marry the only crazy fig propagator.

@ rafaelissimmo...Thank you...and as far as the Ischia Green, I was able to take a nice air layer off the mother tree last summer, never realizing that I would loose that beautiful 8 yr. old tree this past winter.

Love the video, Vince. I also like like your Zen attitude towards the loss of your in ground trees which I'm sure you've acquired from growing figs in the first place. :))

Hi Foreverfigs, Are those Sips ? Nice yard. And never give up ! If the tree you lost was 8 yo that leaves you some 8 years before next bad winter - so being stub born, I would replant a new tree in ground this year... But that's me ! I replaced all the trees I lost in 2012, except for one that was taken by an Apricot... But I planted some trees in some 10 new spots ... You could let the roots escape the pot to the dirt under the pot as well. But, you could as well keep them in pots :) I'll search the forum to seek and see if I can find if you had your trees protected and what kind of strains they were. Happy figging !

What is wrong with my computer settings that I don't see the link for the video? And yes, here in Philly, I lost most all my 2-3 yr. olds in my shed. Even after beefing up insulation in the shed with 2" foam board all around, pots raised on blanket covered crates, leaves on top everywhere. Even my 15' beautiful unknown that has showered us with delicious figs for the last five yrs. (the reason for my beginning of this hobby) shows no sign of life except for new shoots at the bottom. Does that mean I need to chop down 15' of wood? Oh boy..................
