I been getting all crafty and making my own tree tags, I use a light foam inside, tried three different things and like the very thin packing foam sheet the best. I reinforced the hole with a washer, I am going to try hollow rivet next... but I think they are coming a long nice, just need the trees to put them on.

That looks really nice Gloria. Very handy!. Bill of Bill's Figs in Jersey has over 100 trees with similar "dog-tag" labels!

I really am enjoying making these so if someone wanted to place an order I'd be happy to give it a go!! I plan to use the chain that they use on ceiling fan pulls to attach mine...

Gloria I congratulate you! You inspire me to try again. You went a step beyond and made them decorative too! They're very attractive.

Gloria, Nice work. And just what sort of price are we talking about? Is there a minimum order? Fig trades accepted?

Fig trades always accepted... and it would depend on how fancy you want them.. I think 10 would be a good minimum order..

Would you be able to do a detailed set of instructions on how you did those? I will have to wait till my first cuttings root and I get actual trees before thinking of an order, but I am not very skilled artistically and could not duplicate your creations. But I might give it a go in the future anyway.

I'm impressed! Those are beautiful! Mine are pretty ugly, but free with no creativity. LOL! I like your chain idea. Much better than a twistie tie. I just emboss the name of the variety on a strip cut from an aluminum can, beer or pop. They last forever! My figs and grapevines bow their heads in shame for the tags they (not proudly) wear! AND, if the twistie tie isn't so secure, the wind can blow aluminum tags to Kansas or East Egypt...whichever comes first! Maybe the ceiling fan chains are a better way to attach. Thanks Suzi

I have found a smaller version at Micheals and hobby lobby...then if they needed to be moved or made bigger because you tree is growing you can ad more chain...I would do the same as you but we don't drink anything in cans...but if we did I have all sorts of embossing tools I would put to good use..you cut them out and send them to me and I will design them

Nice, Gloria! So how long would it take for you to make 50 and for how much (not too fancy)?

I could do them pretty quick... 15$ and I can personalize them for you if you like... shipping should be cheap, I have eyelets on the way I think those will look nicer than the washer...your on your own for how you want to attach them..
