Thats just nuts! Ive got one RDB, maybe I should put it on Ebay.....? Im pretty firm about just trading figs or buying at a reasonable price but when you hear about some of these varieties going for 100s of dollars it sure seems tempting!

I'm so appreciative of the  VERY generous member who gifted RdB to me.  I could never affford it otherwise.  It's a joy to pay back my gifts, *forward* and keep the gifts going.  Now I know first hand about the blood, sweat and tears that go into all we share, not only high priced varieties. This generosity is so special about this group

Think I have 24 RDB's out there in 1 gallon pots:)    I had no idea what to do with the rest of the cuttings from all my trees after I made trades so just threw them in moss and when they rooted I was like now what....so there are like 200 1 gallon pots out there waiting to go somewhere when they are established.  My entire neighborhood is going to be over run by fig trees.

How do you guys figure this crazy price??? Its a beautiful plant...but $405 ??? Its just not that rare.
Is this a fluke or a look at the future??
My $70.00 RdB that I bought last year from Herman seems like a bargain now, and that is a well established plant.
I am  not taking away anything from KK. I am nothing but in awe of all of his plant auctions. Beautiful stuff indeed.
Has there ever been a price close to this for any other figs ???

I am studying KK's ebay ad. He must know how to build up his product....LOL     On a Serious Note: I believe that some people just have lots of extra spending cash. To me $405 dollars is a ton of cash. To a well off person that may seem to them like 20 bucks.

There are plenty of people with enough money to buy what they want, so why not?  Family friends bought a motorhome for something like $750,000 about 15 years ago.  Seemed pretty crazy, but they had plenty of money and everything else that they wanted, so why not?  Their son took over the business and ran it successfully and was well off financially but his family left him and he reportedly was involved with drugs, booze, and women and committed suicide a couple of months ago.  Focus on the important things in life and only worry about money when you need to.
