Well it arrived today. The tracking number on the box does not match the one on the email I received on 04.24, and there is no charge to my FedEx account even though the original notification was through my account. I already know I did not get Shattoot Mulberry and Black Ischia, but I am okay with that. I am traveling until Tuesday so they will sit in the fridge until I get back.

Not good luck, James. Though you mention that the tracking number on the box does not match, you didn't say whether the address on the package matches yours. It sure sounds like the good folks at UCD/USDA made some error. I suppose it's up to you how to handle, though it makes you wonder whose account was charged, who was that order intended for, and what happened to whatever they may have filled for your order. Sounds an awful lot like whatever's in that box was probably a subset of what someone else ordered (and they'll probably never see it unless you contact them). Good luck with getting it straightened out however you choose. Mike

James, I am still standing outside. I did breakdown and email them and got the reply my order was in the next batch to go out. Maybe I should ask again as that was 2 weeks ago.

I hope it didn't sound like I was complaining. From what I know, it seems like my order. I didn't go back and do a line by line comparison, but a lot of it seems familiar. The delay in my order was mostly due to a change that I initiated which resulted in needing new paperwork and a new phyto. To be honest, I do not remember in the past when FedEx billed me. I know this is not showing up on my account as of now. I'm glad that someone was going out the front door. It might have sat on the step until Tuesday. Overall I have been (and still am) happy with this service. I thought given it's mid-May they would be done, but I suppose there are more people ordering. I think I'm only looking for 1 more fig and 1 more mulberry. I think I will look else where next year and spare them my order.

I have to tell you James, I am wondering the same thing! I love the service they provide us but quite frankly I'm a pig when it comes to ordering and have ordered way too much even with the things that weren't shipped. I still need to start the fig cuttings and I have 45 pomegranates out in the yard starting! I didn't take the brilliante advice from members to wait and place my order, I placed it immediately and by the time I got it, I already had most of the varieties I had ordered. I guess it can be my treasure trove for newbies lol. I am going to try really hard not to order for next year but we'll see if my willpower holds out!

My order arrived 2 weeks ago, and due to lack of time, today, I tackled the figs. They all looked great, and I cut them into 2 or 3 cuttings with at least 4 nodes. I dipped the ends in parafin. I made plastic markers for each. Went outside and found semi shady places to dig 1" deep x 12" diameter circles. I sprinkled inside the circle with cinnamon, put the marker in the center, laid the cuttings in spokes around the marker, put more cinnamon on top, covered them with loose soil and watered them in. They will only get sprinkled when the ground is dry to the touch. Time will tell what will grow, but at least I have them marked, and no worries about mold or fungus gnats. No peeking. What lives, lives, and I get to do the same! I always place my UC Davis order early, except for this year. The move made things crazy. BUT, the order arrived and everything I ordered was there. I've got some plans for next years orders, but not so many as before. I still have to plant all the wine grape cuttings, and they are legion! Suzi
