I took my 13-month Golden Retriever for a long walk today and saw a neighbor planting a long hedge of some non-edible tropical "somethings" along his house.

The plants didn't really interest me that much, but the fact that he was throwing a bunch of 2-gallon nursery containers into a garbage bag certainly did.

I confirmed he planned on throwing them away and asked if it was OK for me to take them, to which he happily agreed.

There appear to be about 2-dozen containers that are all in great shape except for the one on the very top of the pile which has  a slight cut at the top, but is definitely usable.

Usually, when I'm walking the dog, I never get to pick up anything I actually want to keep, so this was a nice change!

EDIT:  For some reason, pic's are not uploading now, so will add the pic later!

It helps you, saves the environment, and apparently delighted the guy that gave them to you.  A win win all around. Good observation and taking advantage of the moment!   Serendipity?
