Anyone wanna take a stab at it? I have known this tree for over 15 years, and truthfully, I don't even recall what color the figs are... This is the tree I mentioned earlier that I had taken cuttings from, and they have done very well so far!

No it wasn't--and I never recall it ever having been covered in those 15+ years I've known this tree. Pretty incredible how much it has come alive compared to the many many other trees in my area who still haven't even broken dormancy at all yet. Right?
Any guesses on what kind of fig it is?

Joe, I can't believe how good that tree looks. All the inground trees out this way haven't leafed out yet. I am getting new shoots at the base of mine but nothing up top. I just don't have the heart to start pruning it back yet.

Ditto Bill its all location location location there is a tree 8 houses down from me fully bloomed (side of house) and all my neighborhood trees that I pick figs from 20+yrs old are all dead its such a shame.

Thanks Ant..
It is pretty incredible how vigorous this tree is. It's really one of the very few I've seen this "alive" in my neighborhood.
Any guesses on what it is by the leaf shape?

Hi Joeturbo, Those leaves are not mature and so are no help in identifying the tree. You'll have to take photos of the leaves in august and possibly of the figs, unripe and ripe. You need to know if the tree is bifera or unifera . I don't see figs ? Are there figs ? But, that tree could well be an unknown . I have plenty of unknowns here. The only way to have a named strain is to buy it, and hope to not have a mislabeled tree ... Here at least people don't keep track of the names or get them from someone who did not . Of course when you're given something, you don't ask too much questions or could be called a rude dude !
