Hi All,

So I was just out feeding my trees.  I have a wedge shaped rock near my trees which I use to prop up one side of a container to water/feed an airlayer.  As I was pouring some solution into one of the containers I noticed it looked like the fabric container was unraveling next to the rock.  This is what I found when I moved the rock...

He let me take a few photos before he got spooked and starting heading for the top of the container.  He flopped himself and the wasp over the edge and settled into the growing mix to finish lunch.

About this time, I heard a whomp behind my head.  It was the hummingbird dive bombing me.  I suppose it was jealous of me taking pictures of something else.

Those are some seriously cool photos.  I like the colored jaw and eye picture best, really animated.

More often I see the wasp win, or at least the dirt daubers as we call them, which seem to prey almost exclusively on spiders.

See?  This is why I don't like hummingbirds.  Been dive bombed one time too many!!  You'll never catch me feeding them!  Cool photo of the spider and the wasp.  Now your big job is to find the wasp nest........................

Very cool photos! Thanks!

Suzi,
The Hummingbirds hate the sound of the nail clippers. You can experiment outside when they are around :)

I like the jumpers. I always round them up and set them free when I find one in the house or sun room. I can't say the same for any other spider.
