Could have gone another day but I wanted to pick them before the birds got to them. There are few brebas and they have a good flavor but nothing compared to the main crop, which is one of my most favorite tasting figs. I've posted pics of this fig before on the forum. My tree is about 5-6 years old. I did not wrap it this past winter and it survived well!

Leon,

Nice looking breba!
Do you have a Dalmatie also by any chance? Can you compare those two?

Hi leon_edmond,
Congrats! They are beautiful.
I'm still waiting to have those beasts on my own LDA.
This year, the tree has some maincrop ... Let's see what I get !
The maincrop LDA is really a good fig - from memory, as it was 3 or 4 years ago that mine produced something...
Last year the brebas dropped and this year, without die-back, the tree has no brebas ...

Is your tree a good grower ? Mine would be perfect as a Bonzaï - although well fertilized !.

They look amazing, Leon.  If all goes well with my tree, I may be able to taste a few in September.

jdsfrance, my tree only produces about 10-12 brebas but the main crop is abundant and the figs are large, solid and taste very rich. It is one of my best figs. I personally do not favor the brebas but the main crop is what I look forward to. My tree is about 8 feet tall with a canopy about 8-9 feet in diameter. Last year I made an air layer of one large side branch, growing in a 15 gallon tub, full of figs as well. This particular fig was shared by a good friend from Spain.

jtp, the flavor of the main crop is a rich mix fig/berry taste. It is solid and meaty. No void in the center. I will try to post some pictures from last year of the main crop figs for you.

Jose!  Nice to 'see' you again!  I can't wait to hear your story when it's time to tell it.  Leon, thanks for posting these and telling us about your main crop.  Mine hasn't produced figs yet but I'll give it more time.

Mine is pushing a couple now, but the tree is too young. I'll remove them once they get a little bigger and pop off easily.
