I received this from james from his f4f auction. He had it under lights so I put it under lights when I got it , about two weeks ago I moved it outside to my porch where it gets very little direct sunlight. Is this from stress from moving it out too early or something else?

like martin said. too much sun too soon. if the tree is healthy and well rooted, it will put on new leaves soon.

It is the UV light that does the burning. Even though they are used to very bright indoor lights they need to adjust to UV, avoid afternoon sun for a week when you put them back out.

Hi indestructible87,
Keep her outside now - unless you get temps under 10°C .
If day temps are above 10°C but not the night temps - do the suffle / when possible . So that is night in, and at day time pot goes out in partial shade , and in two weeks to more a sunny spot.
Are you watering the tree ? I would put a plate under that pot and give a cup of water in the plate . Depending on your temps you could do that twice a week or every two days.
At night if there is still water in the plate, remove the water and don't water her the next day ...

I do not know what it is, but I do not see clear sun-burn.
Could it be wind-burn?

That's not sunburn.  Looks like the edges got roughed up a bit possibly wind or something.  Those leaves will fall off.  Nothing to worry about.  And even if it was sunburn, the leaves will fall off anyway and new ones will pop out and the new ones will be ready to handle the sun.  Just leave it alone and keep the soil moist....not wet and it will be fine.  Nice looking tree.  Be happy!

Unless you picked it up in person, this one is easy IMO. Your tree is exhibiting the classic symptoms of time in the box during shipping. Those leaves will never really look much better than they do, some may yellow and eventually fall, but the new leaves will look fine when they grow.

Travis,

I have a few others that did the same thing when I moved them outside.  All about the same size and age.

I put them in shade, but they still got a little bit of sun, but they did get a lot of wind. A couple lost all leaves, some lost a few leaves.. but all are putting on new leaves now.  I have them in full sun now.

Keep them outside, as long as the temps are high enough (per jdsfrance).  Keep them in partial shade/sun.  Grandually let them have more sun.  After a month, you should have them in full sun. Some leaves may drop, some may not.  But it should be fine in the long run.

Keep us posted..

Travis hi

same happened to one of my trees.

The problem i think is the Soil may be to light as in my case and doesnt hold moisture.

i would try to add 1 inch of compost and watering it after with a spray nozle.

Heres an update on the conadria, its doing very good now. I knew figs were pretty forgiving I just didnt think it was going to survive the way it was looking. But a month and a half later its looking good.

those damages on the leaves were probably from shipping and handling... they are fold marks that have dried out.
