I was at Lowes this morning and happened to go buy the window blinds to check on the price of 1" aluminum blinds. They have Levalor's which they cut to fit. As with their paint I guess if they mess up they sell them cheap as they are not of much use. Got a set with 74 slats. Each slat will make 8 tags. Embossing is easy with both a ball point pen or engraver. $10 and a 10% retired military discount. No more more soda cans or aluminum flashing for me.

Great tip Jake, I use aluminum mini blinds too and they work great. I encourage people to not only try the big box stores but also the local window coverings stores. Not having the same trash capacity as the big stores, the small stores are usually very glad to see the 'bad' blinds go elsewhere than their dumpster, and will usually give them to you for nothing more than a smile.

I have used our old blinds that had to be replaced for various reasons.
