Hey Guys, Just wanted to introduce myself as I've been lurking the forums for the past year. What started my interest is a fairly large (~15ft) mature fig tree in my new backyard. It gives an abundant quantity of tasteless green figs. Only the squirrels like them. Nothing like what I'm used to tasting in the Mediterranean. Fortunately I'm in a zone 10a micro-climate in the SF bay area, so I decided to take the plunge. I started a collection of of about 7 different types to see what grows well in my area and hopefully splice branches onto the larger tree in the future. I'm focused now on the Lebanese and Syrian varieties, if you have any please let me know! I dont have much to offer now but, can trade a few cuttings of a Bourjasotte Gris if anyone is interested. Good luck to all! Tarek

Welcome to the forum! For what you're after, the best place is Trees of Joy . He has over a dozen Lebanese and Syrian figs if I remember correctly. We can talk about trading a Lebanese variety for your BG if you email or PM me. Yours are turned off.

Hello Tarek Welcome to the forum. That's a big fig you have on your new back yard and in a very convenient zone. Have you any pictures showing some branches with figs ? This could help to identify that source of huge 'fig energies´ , already established !! cheers Francisco Portugal

Welcome, Tarek. You've come to The Place for fig info! Your big fig tree could be a good subject to practice your graftings skills- with an established root system, any varieties you graft on will take off much quicker than planting a small young start.
