I can't complain that it does ant have a citrus tree or a fig tree anymore. It was a rental near me that was originally built by a good friend but after he and his wife passed it changed hands several times, but this time I was lucky. Or may be not, any way I am cleaning the yard and I'm doing a total remodel on my days home so one more project as if I wasn't busy enough. Any way my doughtier likes it so I know who my neighbor will be. I will have to squeeze in a little forum time somehow. I'd does join my property so adding to irrigation will be a breeze.

I guess I didn't just say I bought the land. But as of Wednesday the deed has my name on it.

Congratulations Hershell!  It's great your daughter is going to be there.  My parents built next to my grandma when I was only 2 years old, and I loved living next to my grandparents.  I remember helping grandpa with picking berries, feeding the chickens, and grandma with her flowers.  He was so mad at his lemon for not producing, he half girdled it, and the thing thought it was going to die, so it started producing big time.  They must have had a brown turkey fig.  I remember the tree, but figs weren't my favorite.  I did love the blackberries.

Have fun with your new property!

Nice to have your kids close by, I travel 2 hours to see 3 of my kids and grandbabies, but the 4th is in Japan so it is a lot of texting, emails and Facebook. You are blessed.

Yes, my son lives next door and I bought the next for my doughtier. It will be a major overhaul but the neighborhood will be quiet again.

Very good scenario.
I am officially surrounded by lazy people who don't care about their yards now on all three sides. They mow their back yards an average of 0.75 times per year.  I sit and watch the Canadian Thistle and other airborne noxious weed seeds blow over the fence and land all over. Every spring I work like crazy to pull the nastiest weeds out when they are small and the tap roots haven't developed yet. At least at the moment the 2 sides that have dogs have them under control.
It is just all the more incentive to move a few years sooner than we wanted.

Congrats and good luck.  Hopefully, some day your neighbors will be helping you out when you no longer have the energy to be so ambitious! :)

I hope so Harvey, but you never know. I have to go back to work Monday so I can get some rest. LoL. There is one small lot that I own land on 3 sides of that i am still trying to buy. It is too small to put anything on so one day. The owner says I can use it until he can sell it.
