Wow, this is a huge fig, like tennis ball size. Issue I have is that 3 of them are just hanging on(drooping) for 2 days like this but each fig is still firm to the touch. It has light brownish speckles on its skin, no splits and already light yellow. Does anyone have this experience with Deanna ? I am tempted to pick one to try. The day time weather is perfect at 78*F(approx 25*C or higher) except the nights 52*F for the next 2 days. I would be anxious to know. Thanks

My experience is that they look ripe for about a week before they are even close. And by the time they are really ripe, they often split or rot. Never performed well for me. I'll try and get some of this season's pix posted.

The one on the right wasn't ripe. The one on the left was just getting there.

The best one in a couple of seasons.

Thanks Jon for the feedback. The size of the figs is impressive. I think I will pick one today to check it out.

Pick one Deanna this evening to try. It's big at 170 grams and to the touch it was just getting softer & I could see the honey ozing. Its definetly a keeper. Taste very sweet and has a slight distinct melon like flavour. Have pictures, Will try to post tomorrow. Have 2 more to pick tomorrow, almost similar size. I got this variant from Jon last year.

Didn't expect much of my Deanna at first but i've been giving it more time to prove itself. The tree is in its second year. When its not so humidy they taste pretty good, at this time maybe an 8. I started to let it go for the birds but I will let it get a little.

I have to say it sure looks impressive for size. I hope that it performs well under at least certain conditions, so someone somewhere can enjoy it.

And it does OK under the right conditions. I heard it does better in pots. Will try that later.
