Been traveling a lot with my new job.  After a week in San Diego, I came home to find a few ripe figs!  A darn rat found my GH and got one fig.  But I will get him tonight!

Any way, does anyone know what variety these are?  I do!  Just want to see if you know your figs!!!!  They were picked this morning.  All came from container trees.  I do know what they are.  They were very sweet!

Calvin is part right and so is Alan!

All 3 were ripe. The largest one is Gillette and the other 2 are Desert King. These 2 cultivars ripen fast in my hot and humid climate.

Strawberry Verte figs are ripening now .

Alan, the largest one with the white center is Gillette. I got it from Jon McMillian of Almost Eden. I know a forum friend sold him cutting's. I have 2 or 3 from him. Both are small trees but put out large figs.

Hi snaglplus,
Sure, you could have wait a bit more ... not to pick the figs, but to give the answer LOL ... I had Desert king on my tongue...
I'm still waiting for my figs to ripen. I have one "Jannot" that is said to be close to if not DK - but with two crops ... But once more I suppose that it's true for people living in Southern France... For the east ...
Well ... still some weeks to go ... Perhaps during my holidays when I'm abroad ... Damn trees ! I'll spank them all !!!
With the mild winter, I thought I'd be eating them by now ... but no ...still waiting...

I guessed the large white, hollow interior one may be Gillette based on
pictures I've seen.
The reddish 2 don't have the white speckles on the skin to resemble
Desert King in my opinion. May be related, though.
