Super Store Unknown - ID Needed. Nice Flavor, Tasty Fig with some seed crunch. Purchased fig tree hoping it turns out to be Petite Negri. I guess not. Hope someone can id it. The price was good enough for me to spend $10. The label describe it as a medium size dark fig. Appears to me as a 'Mission' fig.


Pot blown down and heat from concrete pavement burnt most leaves.

Hey Paul, I too purchased one this year on the tag it says hardy fig. On the PC website they have it listed as Chicago Hardy.

Mine ripened the first fig aug 30th and quite tasty.

I saw them also at the Real Canadian Superstore garden centre with the PC label on them. They emailed me when I asked confirming what Nelson says that they are hardy chicago.

Never thought to check out my HC. Too many plants. Will do so later. What threw me off was the elongated fruit shape. My HC fruit shape is more rounded.Thanks for the id. Sure welcome another HC to my collection. It is a high quality fig.

Not Negri. Sorry. Wrong leaf and the fig would have more little white spots all over it. Good luck with it!
