I'm excited about this one but doubt there is enough time for the figlets to mature and ripen.
But I'm hopeful at the same time. So it's 50/50

Growing well and it already produced a backup plant for me and it is in the process of producing another air layer for a friend. And another branch is beginning to form and this will be a future layer for another friend. Quite possibly next season.

Love the way this plant looks. Very healthy, green and robust.

I will put it in a 20gl pot in the Fall. This way the new soil could act as insulation for the root ball.

A beautifully healthy looking tree indeed!! Great leaves! 
What's the fig like- light/dark , center?

I do the same in the fall -up pot most pots for extra insulation, all except the huge ones.

I believe they are brownish on the outside.
JD has posted a couple video links on this fig. I will try to locate it and post it.

Beautiful tree indeed and I love the shape. Did you prune it to get that shape or is that all natural growth?

A gorgeous tree, Rafed. Very tropical looking. Pretty enough to grow as an ornamental.

Nice healthy looking tree, hopefully the early cool weather will not inhibit the ripening process. Hopefully! Crazy weather and probably will get crazier every year.

Rumour is this variety is in fact an already existing variety called Rosso di Trani and all they did was just rename and patent it, like they did with ALL their varieties.
If you take a look at Lubera's website with all their fancy fig names and compare the pictures to Mercato Verde's varieties (also located in Switzerland) it is not hard to tell what is what.

Thanks, Rob, I'd not heard of Lubera's previously.  It doesn't seem that this variety is patented but that Lubera's has registered their version of the name,

Gustissimo® Perretta as shown on their web site at http://www.lubera.co.uk/plants/fruit-trees/additional-fruit-trees/fig-trees/gustissimo-perretta?c=10

In the video on that page they say they found it at a nursery and it was originally discovered in the Swiss Alps.  Nice series of photos/videos.  I haven't looked for Mercato Verde's web site yet.
