Well the yellowjackets, wasps, and bald face hornets have stopped feasting on my figs. They left us only a few figs before the frost hit the other night. But I was still happy to at least be able to take a few pictures and eat a few figs as I ripped away all the unripe figs on my trees. Some of the figs still needed a week or so but hey you take what you can get! They all tasted great for so late in the year. Hope ya'll enjoy the photos and I'm sorry some are blurry it's about time for a new camera.

Giorgio Galessio painted a picture of Dall'osso, I've never seen a Dall'osso alive today like the one he showed the world. So I can't call it Dall'osso ;)

Hey, better than nothing, right? Nice to have these bonus figs at this time of year. I unexpectedly picked a handful of figs the other day myself. With the cold weather, they were very acceptable. I have 3 Pretos that are changing color now. If I can finish off my season eating those 3, I will be a very happy man.

Yesterday I picked a few figs off my trees that have stayed outside thusfar and endured many frosts and some light freezes. The figs were.. not good, at all. The figs ripening in the sun room are good, not like outside late summer figs good, but still good.

Very true frank. Calvin once the first frost hits you have about 6-8 hrs to eat ripe and almost ripe figs anything after that and they turn mushy and god awful. The 1 good thing about the end of the fig season is swapping cuttings. I like to trade cuttings now-early dec before any winter damage takes place and before I move my potted plants in their winter homes.

Calvin I have a fig called italian light brown not sure if the same as tonys brown Italian but if you want to try it I'd love to trade a few cuttings with you.
