Looked on Google Maps he is located off Spain, The Canary Islands of Spain....I told him my Spanish is Californian Spanish not Spanish. We use different words but most are similar.

The link opened fine for me.  It took me to a pdf document that looked like it provided a detailed procedure for describing leaf and fruit characteristics.  It also included leaf photos (back and front) and fruit photos for a large number of varieties.  Unfortunately I don't read Spanish but I bet it contains some good information if I could.

The link works, it just takes a while. It explains the various parts of the fig. And then it describes the parts of the native varieties and how they measure or are different. A good resource.

This is a great resource. People are always talking about identifying varieties by leaf form here on the forum, but I never know where to start. This booklet lays it all out step by step. The pictures tell it all. Thanks for the link.

By the way, is anybody on here collecting these varieties? I have never heard of any of them.

Hello Francisco,
some years ago I visited Portugal and I tried your figs, they are fantastic.
If you are interested in fig cuttings, in spring we could exchange some.
