Congrats Joe, nice trees, should be able to get two 6" cuttings with 3 nodes or more on each? I personally would leave them alone in your zone until spring then either up-pot or put them in the ground. Just my opinion but I am from Florida and I root, up-pot and put in the ground all year long.

I removed the plastic from the pots of JF&E figs, they will needed to be watered over the winter. One of mine arrived with a broken branch as well, it is currently rooting with other cuttings. Most people seem to like 3 or 4 nodes per cutting, I have a few with two and like Charlie some with one as well. I see no reason why it could not be cut in half.

Hi Bigfig, Good feedback thus far from member. I would do as suggested by others here. Assure there is enough (3-4) nodes on each, and try to have 2. or at least 4 nodes in one, and then at least 2 on the other (if no more available). Then (some people may disagreee with me here, but it is what I have done) I would repot those to bigger pots (those look rather small form here) with out disturbing the root ball as it is right now... being gentle and moving to bigger pot. Then, of course, water it through the winter. Please check for further advice on watering, everyone seems to have different criteria as to how much and how often. I usually water once every 3 weeks during dormant months. Congratulations on the plants!!! Jerry

I plan on leaving mine as is until about March. I did cut the bag off at the top of the pot though, it arrived plenty moist but I imagine it will need a drink in 2-3 weeks.
