When should I move the rooted fig to a 1 gal pot? Should I wait until the whole cup is full of roots or up pot now with 2 or 3 small roots? They are in 16 oz clear cups, drilled drain holes and fill with potting soil and perlite 50/50 ratio.

IMO wait till the cup is entrench with roots....you don't want to break or disturb at this point...

I agree with John. Wait until the cup is just about root bound. It will make the transfer much simpler and the root ball will stay intact for the most part. More roots equals better survival rate after transfer.

Thanks all. It's a hurry up and wait thing. Might have to move the cuttings to a taller bio-dome due to the green growth.

What is a bio-dome? Just curious. I don't wait for root bound. When I was stuck in the whole inside rooting thing, I watched fungus gnats destroy all my rooted cuttings. So, I grew up. I plant them horizontal outside, mark the spot and leave them alone. Miraculously, they actually grow in real dirt.

A bio-dome is my name for a humidity chamber. It is one that fits on a seed heating pad and is about 10 inches tall. I went out and found a clear plastic tub that is 13 inches tall and will use that soon. Plant growth is almost to the top of the 10 inch box. The bigger box is also wider so I will be able to add some new starts. Only about twenty more to go and I'll be done this year.

Rx2. Get a used,fish tank. You can get big ones,pretty cheap on craigslist in you area. Just a idea for you. .

If you have pretty extensive roots, you might want to think about weaning off of the humidity chamber; that is if room is an issue.

Right now room is not the issue. Like Richard suggested, I found a fish tank that is about 3 foot long. I have to make a lid and bottom for it and I will have at least double the room. Now go out and find the plastic for the top, 1x2 and screening for the bottom, nails and glue and presto we have a new habitat. Thanks for all the help. I dislike ending up with dead sticks. Forgot to mention I found a 20 foot tree in Olympia that I have to go get some cutting from. I might have a few to pass around if any body wants. Don't know what type of tree it is. Just big and growing in the ground in WA.
