Dear Forum Members,
I'm sorry I've been away and ignored the rude things said about me. I'm Sorry to the members that believed there were getting Genovese Nero and turned out to be it wasn't Genovese Nero. But never did I attend to hurt anyone in trying to make some money and get away with it. The tree I have and the pictures I've poste in the past of my Genovese Nero was given to me from a good source that came from Adriano. I can give each and everyone of you my word that the Genovese Nero I sold to everyone is the exact Genovese Nero that was given to me. May I have cancer if I intended to screw anyone over. I hope to God one day the truth comes out and turns out to be that mine is the correct Genovese. I've seen pictures of other members Genovese that I sold to and I believe it could be there climate that they didn't ripen like mine or I'm using something different then others use in my soul. I don't know how to repay anyone back unless I can give them cuttings of something I have to them that they don't have but I doubt it they want that because I don't have many varieties. Please forgive me for what happened and I'm truly sorry to everyon that got hurt. I wish each and one of you a blessed and healthy new year and please email me if you wanna talk and I can help pay half of what everyone one paid. I don't wanna start no drama so please email me to talk about this manner at rob052083@gmail. Com thank you and God bless you all and your families and fig trees.

Rob, I bought Genovese cuttings on eBay, and I can say I have no hard feelings about any potential mix up. I am completely happy with our transaction. I do not believe there was any intention of wrong doing. Truth be told, I bought the fig in the pictures, not the name.

Thanks, and hope you are well.

Rob, I know of at least 2 people who can report on comparison either this year or next.
Your GN variant is good. I have no reasons to doubt its not the real thing.

Hi, Rob
Glad to see you post again.
I have two of the cuttings and can't wait to taste that fig.
A great fig by any name is still a great fig.

Rob, it's all good man.  Don't worry about  it.  These things happen.  You're a good man!  You came to the forum and explained it so all is well.  I trust you.  We all have trees labeled and sold to us as one thing and we believe what was sold to us is true.  I have a Noire de Caromb that came from Reads.  When it fruited some folks said the figs look like Black Mission.  Is it Black Mission?  No, I truly beleive it is NdC.  So, don't worry about it.  Don't loose any sleep over it.  I got some of those cuttings and I will be more than happy if I am lucky enough to get the cuttings to root and trees to fruit!  So, don't let this thing get you down my friend.  It's going to be an excellent year for figs this year!  Be Blessed!

Rob, I'm also glad to seeing you posting again.  I've watched the GN controversy unfold from the sidelines.  I have no idea what happened but never felt that you had any ill intent. Your post makes me more confident of that.  I've only been growing figs for 4 years or so but I have observed some strange things - like a Col de Dam Noir I propagated from cuttings that has a totally different leaf morphology than the mother tree even after it is more than a year old etc.  Perhaps some day DNA analysis will be cheap and easy enough to quickly put these types of issues to rest.

Rob, I was lucky enough to get one of the first GN? plants offered by Harvey. When the confusion started, being the stand up guy that he is, Harvey offered me a refund. I declined, because who wouldn't want this fig? IMG_3376.JPG

Mistakes can happen.  Great that you have been open and up front about it.
Sounds like the accidental mislabelling could have happened anywhere along the line.
I doubt if anyone intended anything sinister.

Hi Rob,
I don't know the history bit the cuttings Harvey wanted to sell is a keeper. I bought those cuttings not for it's name, but for the fruit in the picture that is a winner to me.

   Peace!!!

I personally would like to purchace few of those cuttings.
That fig, whatever it is, looks amazing.
No one's mean words bother my decision about a fig.
God bless you Rob and Harvey.

I, from the begining, saw the great potentia'll of this beautiful fig and hoped Harvey would never give up or that argument.

It will be interesting as I now have 3 GN, One from Rob (ty Harvey) one from Rafed and another from a person who got it from the original set of cuttings.  All 3 will be in a line growing side by side in same conditions so that should tell the tale I would think.

Rob,
I have already posted pictures of a fig from one of 2 of the GN's I got from you.
I'll do leaves once I have some.

My concern with any and all figs I grow is flavor and productivity.
Whatever I got from you - and it may be the correct fig - will have a fair chance of being included in my collection of "keepers" as name bares no real weight in the decision to include in my long term plans.

I appreciate you responding and hope no one is harboring any ill will.

The St. Rita I got from you at the same time has become a very productive and very tasty fig, btw. It is certainly a keeper.

Anyway I hope we can all be patient enough to work toward discovering and resolving any issues.

I have trees that vary tremendously from year to year and from individual tree to tree, so patience is certainly called for in this case.

Happy figging,
mgg

Hi Rob, I have the so called real GN from two sources and will probably buy one of yours when I can find one since it is proven to be a great tasting fig.

Again, I am also sorry for responding to Aaron's sick comment that he made on your thread.

Aaron,

You are so full of it.  Please point out what I said to you in this thread to garner that vulgar comment?  I had not even posted yet on this thread when you made that uncalled for comment. The fact is you are upset because myself and many others have called you on the fact that you are ripping people off.  You are not the victim, you are the problem.

Willis,
you have been bashing my threads and posts regardless where I post for quite a some time now.
What I distribute to my friends and other interested members is very unique and certainly don't need your or any other's approval.
There is no point for you to interfere if you are not interested in attaining them.
If you feel you need to settle something with me PM me, I'll be open to discuss the subject to the end but please do not litter threads and posts. Respect the owners of the thread.
Several of you (and I am repeating this again and again) same people, keep doing this same mindless thing. You need to stop and be more considerate about what you say to me .
There is so much you need to learn about figs, yes you.
Just because figs grow like weeds in your climate , just like in mine, doesn't make you an expert. I am not an expert but I am learning at very fast rate. So, sometimes I may not include details which are tied to other experts due to their private nature , doesn't mean I am making things up.
This is the last time I will post any irrelevant conversation to a thread. We all need to be respectful towards each other and specially the owners of the threads.
Your nasty comments and self created confusions will NEVER change my mind and stop me from what I do with my fig varieties.
Again, you and your nasty click of several people (you know who you are) need to refrain yourselves from appearing tough and "know it alls", we all are here to learn and by learning I mean...New Information.

My apologies to everyone who has read this and other posts that were not related to original topic of the thread.
We need to keep this things out of threads.

I can delete all my postings if you guys do same.
And , still, you can PM me to discuss any issue that needs settling in your mind.
Be good.

Please tell me why can't we just talk about figs on this forum and keep the sick personal crap out? Why? And why is it always....always....some guy! You know we have a lot of nice, respective women on this forum. Some of you guys need to stop the madness and stop running off a lot of good people from this forum. Now, I know Jon and he will lock this thread if this craziness doesn't stop. I really don't know what is wrong with some of you! SMH
