Hey everyone,
I've been reading posts for a while and finally decided to introduce myself. I live in Frederick, Maryland with my wife and three kids. I bought a fig tree about three years ago and now have five varieties. I really enjoy reading and learning from all of the members-keep the information coming. Its been a long cold winter and we are ready for spring. Look forward to getting to know folks and continuing to learn more about figs.

Welcome to the forum, do you have all yours in containers or some in ground?
I was in Frederick a few years back visting a relative, first day there he took us out to a typical seafood place, everyone was whacking their crabs with mallets and I got shot in the eye with a shell. Other than that it was a very nice town.

Welcome to the forum David, you will get a lot of information on figs and meet several fig nuts that will convince you that no matter how many plants you have, just one more, or more, is what you need and deserve to have.

Thanks for all of the warm welcomes! All my trees are currently in pots overwintering in my garage. I currently have Celeste, black mission, Chicago hardy, brown turkey and some type of LSU variety that I bought at Whole Foods last summer. I successfully rooted two cuttings over the winter. I previously had two in the ground but the rabbits and cold winter were bad last year. Snow, ice and rain are forecasted for the rest of the week.
