This thread seems to about Christmas fig cuttings 'presents' in March. Yes, I bought some too ... [Edit: or is it something else?] But, but; here in NJ, on day-one spring 2015, we had (yet another) 5" of a snow dump. Let me tell you, them trees being covered with white-fluffy snow was rather beautiful! And, and; I did mention to my wife that it looks like a nice white (Spring) Christmas! Luckily, local temps then went well above 40*F, and all snow melted away very quickly. __________________ George, NJ_z7a.

i have never heard of this grape is it a wine grape table grape slip skin ect could you explain a little about it __________________ wish list pananas purple, i258, any type of mutation

There are a couple thousand grape cultivars in the Davis GRIN holdings known only by accession number. Visiting the Wolfskill orchard with pad and pencil during fruiting seasons is the only way to learn about them. This one is a seedless golden table grape which due to its parentage I have nicknamed Gold Manukka. It is sweet and fruity. __________________ - Richard Vista CA, zone 10b

I spent many hours a few years ago researching wine grapes that grow in hot windy areas around the world, and I ordered many unusual varieties from UC Davis because at that time we lived in the hot low desert where miles of commercial table grape vineyards exist. Coachella Valley. They grow table grapes there mainly because it costs too much to keep the wine cool enough for aging. Learned that the hard way. I also learned that living on a golf course is not good for the grapes. They water too much which causes humidity and makes the grapes get fungus. We are now in wine country with the heat and the wind the wine grapes love and also cooler nights, so I'm now looking to add to our vineyard some of the more normal varieties. I'll be spending hours again at GRIN! Our grapes are all budding and have many clusters on them. Spring is so great! Good luck with those cuttings! Grapes are so much easier to root than figs.
