It surprises me this season as I was ready to give it away due to average quality taste over the past years. This year taste was superior.

Among other names, this fig is also known as Douqueira Negra (Italie). It is a very highly rated fig and belongs to a class by itself.

Noire de Caromb is truly one of the best tasting black figs. Just let it stay on the tree and start to wrinkle. Man ole man is that a good fig! It use to be the fig to get! Now everybody seems to be after Galicia Negra. Kathleen Black is another overlooked black fig. But still an excellent fig.

Just added Noire de Caromb to my wish list, it looks and sounds so good! :)

Now rooting LSU Gold and Purple, Celeste, Panache, Peter's Honey, and Unknown Varieties from cuttings, thanks to generous forum members .Figs on my current wish list (along with any others recommended): Osborne Prolific, Battaglia Green, Smith, Kadota, Italian Honey, Atreano, Verte or Green Ischia, Panache, Peter's Honey, Black Madeira, Smith, Noir de Caromb, etc. ~
