This is about honoring my word and publicly apologizing to Eugene  (evladi7654) for a big mistake I made.

I went to Harvey's thread about ebay scammers and posted pictures of cuttings he sold me, as 489emma, on ebay.  I was so certain they were diseased, despite the fact that I was new to starting figs from cuttings.  I figured since all my other cuttings showed no such signs, his had to be diseased.

I'm wrong.   I'm now pretty sure this was a case of sun scorch.  Whatever I did to them, they were not diseased.  Now they look great.  

Fortunately, Eugene caught wind of my incorrect accusations and defended his product. However, I was so sure of myself I told him if I turned out to be wrong, then I'd publish a thread with the above title.

Eugene, please forgive my stupidity.  You are an honorable ebay vendor and deserve nothing but praise, so far as I am concerned.  I am particularly impressed with your civility while I was accusing you.

I'll take this thread down when you give me permission to do so...

Tim, hope you and Eugene are square now.I have bought cuttings from him also.It takes a "Man" to admit when he's wrong....: )

Tim, we all make mistakes and with a little wisdom, they can turn into learning experiences...  Those are the majority of my education.

Danny, Eugene's F4F handle is evladi7654 his ebay screen name is 489emma.  The cuttings I got from him are looking very good.

Thanks every one for mercifully not rubbing my nose in this confession.  

Eugene is the injured party here.  If there are any thoughts about how I can better make it up to him I'd like to see them.  

Humorous pokes at me are fair game.

This online fig community is made up of really special people.

I don't participate much (mainly because I just can't seem to root cuttings), but I admire everyone's generosity of spirit.

Hey Tim. You're not a Jerk buddy. Maybe you just acted like one for a moment or two( just like I am now) but you saved it big time. Well done to both You and Eugene for taking the high road and solving this matter in such a civilized and manly manner . Respect to you both!!!
