Hi all. All my figs survived the winter in the garage and are now bounding out in growth. Currently have Hardy Hartford, Brown turkey, Chicago, and Celeste. I was wondering, with all the experience you guys have, what's the opinions on some of the better varieties to keep in pots for slightly short summers like here in WV? Thanks gang, Chris

Any figs variants will do well in container with proper care. But the ones in ground, will always outperform the ones grown in container by miles. Live close to you and grow many variants in containers for years.

Here's a link to a good spreadsheet. List hardy varieties as well as ripening order which can be useful with short ripening seasons. http://www.ourfigs.com/forum/figs-home/9830-hardy-fig-list
