Just a guess, the fig looks like my Naples White. Will be back home tonight to see if leaves match yours.

There seems to be several that look similar can you describe the taste and a photo of the plant to see how the figs form. Size would help also.

They are kind of figgy with an acidic type flavor. They are really clustered on the tree turning from green to yellow when ripe. I would say around 60 grams in a backyard and probably 20ft. Tall. It is loaded with fruit.

Have you compared it against Genoa White?. Of course here ,Genoa white was totally poor in taste, because the heat needed to ripe properly is not enough, but in your location,it might be just right, and make very good tasting fruits!

I have heard good stuff about Genoa, a cook was on PBS was given this fig to add to her Salad. The grower said he recommend this over Kadota. He said Kadota was to sweet for what she was making.

I don't think Marseilles White based on interior color being too dark, reddish, but's just my thoughts, nut sure if caprified might bring that color out.

My White Genoa is a strong grower that produces nice figs for 3 seasons now. I would not get rid of it.

Brian, what is the ethnic population like where this fig is found? That may give us some clue.
