Allowed some people to pick figs & ended up with a headache. All were told its OK to pick A FEW but the abuse was grossed -- by the bags, every day and 2 times a day. Even my neighbours who kept an eye on the house could not tolerate such gross abuses and told these abusers that if I knew, I would not allow such pickings. The figs are suppose to be for many to sample. Lesson learnt -- BEST NOT TO ALLOW ANY ONE TO PICK THE FIGS IF YOU ARE NOT AROUND or Don't start it.

It's better to remove the tree or remove the fruit until It can feed the public, all permissions should be accepted :-)

Pic a few figs and poison them with a mild irritant. A little liquid plummet will teach these clowns

Such a shame to have a good intention taken advantage of. A friend has very productive fruit trees along his driveway behind some commercial garages in the city. Every year he is beside himself to find people in his driveway collecting the fruit. I have been toying with the idea of planting a Chicago Hardy in a sunny spot, but it's close to a public street with many pedestrians. If it turned out to be productive, I'm pretty sure the figs would disappear. Someone even stole a few volunteer squash from the same spot that grew from the compost mulch!

That is aweful. Some people think they are entitled. I just got back from 2 week vacation to find out some one in the neighborhood had picked most of the figs. A bunch were on the ground shrivelled and they were not even close to being ripe. I think it must had been a kid trying to get them.
