This is one of the best figs I've eaten. This one probably could have used another day. Plenty more behind it. There's a reason I have 4 trees of this variety.

Actually I just received my first SV as a gift and will be able to compare the flavors in about 4 weeks so I guess I will bump the thread at that time. Green Ischia I have tasted and is also called verte-while it is a very good fig, and similar in taste, it is also about half the size of Adriatic JH.

It is going to be much tastier when fully ripe.
When ripe is yellowish white not green.
All white-green figs with dark red interior are top notch tasting, but what Adriatic jh, has over them,is that it will ripe ,in colder climate better than all others.
Of course for people in deep south or California,it does not matter ,but for the rest of country it does matter.
It could make the difference,of having ripe fruits or not having, in some years.
I also have an older one and 3 younger ones, that much i like it.

Congratulations!
This fig is a winner.
Is it synonym to ' fico di fragola' ??
Wonder if it's happy with long/hot/dry summers.

We don't know the original name for this fig unfortunately. However, climatologically speaking, it adapts well to virtually any climate, from dry to humid to hot or cooler. I'd be privileged to send you cuttings if you like.

Hi Rafael.
Beautiful looking fig. Could you post a picture of the leaves, I have one but the leaves don't look like others that I've seen.

Will do when I get home Vito. 3 of my plants came from Ed Powers, one is originally from Encanto. I think all the leaves are the same.

Rafael,

Thank you  for information on this variety.
It's very kind of you to suggest sending some scions--Thank you very much! Unfortunately  it will not work. Customs sniffers will rapidly detect them and the pack will be destroyed. Will see if early next year may find a couple of cuttings inside the EU.
