I had several of these last year but this is the first one of 2015.  This one came from my 5 gallon SIP.  HUGE fig with lots of sweet rich figgy flavors.  What I love so much about this fig is how meaty it is.  One of these equals 3-4 average sized figs!  So delicious and will always have a home in my yard.  Enjoy the pics!

Hi Figgyfrank,
For one more year, 8 or 9 in a row, my lda has decided that she wouldn't make brebas. But she has some 20 maincrop figs ... Let's wait a bit more !
Maincrop are meaty too. I like that in lda . Really a fig in a its own class.

Amazing fig, your kids probably liked it.
My kids would take the 20$ instead of the fig :(

The fig is Breba Longue D'Aout.
Main crop are large too but not so elongated and of course smaller.
Just as Tasty as Breba,tho.

Looks great! How is the cold tolerance with this variety? Does any have experience with this fig around zone 5?

Becky,

I've only had it in the ground for 3 years.  Those 3 years we've had abnormally cold temps and all my trees died to the ground.  They all come back in the spring though.  But I don't know how cold tolerant it is after a mild winter.

Glad to see what I can expect. I have one in a pot and one in the ground that I got from you in December.  The in ground one is a little over 5' growing well despite the endless heat and no rain.  Only fertilized with goat manure as a top dressing.  Love those leaves.  Thanks!

Looking good, Don!  Yes, the leaves are a bit unique.  Kind of like Nero 600 leaves, but very serrated.

Thanks for the feedback! Its always much more helpful and informative when the grower can give personal experience with a variety. Looks like a great fig, I will have to keep an eye out for it!
