Can anyone provide guidance about ordering cuttings from Monserrat Pons or elsewhere overseas? Or maybe some are available here and I don't know where to look.

Is Baud another place to order cuttings or does that mean something else?

Any help greatly appreciated!

My guidance is don't. I have been visited by USDA, as have many other members, two years ago and it is not worth it.

Humm, OK I remember now all that USDA stuff. I was given the impression it could be done legally. But maybe that's too expensive.

Bad idea I guess. Thank you for the reminder!!

Steve, I think it can be done legally but you have to jump through a lot of hoops including growing the figs in a quarantine facility for a significant length of time.  There information on the forum about this that should get you started.  Obviously there's a lot of expense involved.  It might be worth it if you are in the nursery business but probably not for a hobbyist in my opinion.

Pons does not ship to US, so I am not sure what Richie was doing. You would have to figure out an alternative method to get his cuttings out of Europe. They are also much more expensive this year, and some are not available at all. At this point, many US growers have his best varieties, so you would do as well just sourcing them here. Check ebay or write to folks that have posted his varieties here in the US. It amazes me how much hype goes into certain figs. Mallorca is an amazing place for figs. There are so many other quality figs easily available here. I would counsel having a compelling reason for wanting to add his figs to your collection.
