The sunshine is just regular SPM I think.  Pro-mix has antifungal and vermiculate/perlite which increases water retention.

Pro-mix is better choice for both application, but it is too inexpensive for bigger container like 55 gallon = 200 lites.

For fig cuttings, I would go for  "Perlite" .

For what it's worth, my experience with ProMix vs. Sunshine for rooting Figs is I used ProMix until they started adding a fungicide to the mix at which time my rooting success went way down.  Mycorrhiza is a fungus that is necessary to initiate rooting and my opinion is the ProMix fungicide may inhibit Mycorrhiza.  I switched to Sunshine #1 which is a peat & perlite mix and my Fig rooting success went back up to the level I was used to with the old version of pre-fungicide ProMix.  Depending on your particular rooting technique, you may experience different results than I have had with these two mixes.

You can get pro-mix HP just with mycorrhizae and without the biofungicide.  The biofungicide is a group of bacteria that eat the types of fungi that cause plant diseases.  Stamets has them in his mixes as well.

I haven't tried Sunshine #4, but #1 was terrible and full of fungus gnats.  I assume you folks haven't seen that with #4?

Well, I have kept quiet on this because I haven't tried Sunshine #4.  However, ProMix has never steered me wrong and I've rarely had issue with roots forming.  I have about 50 cuttings in ProMix right now and they all have roots and leaves.  I probably had 3-4 dry up on me, but when I planted them they had leaves and no roots, and I don't use humidity bins.  I now don't plant without roots even if the leaves are growing in the moss.

I've noticed no slowing in root formation when up-potting using the bales of HP with just Mycorrhizae.

No fungus gnats - but I did get a shipment of Sunshine #4 Natural & Organic w/ Myc that smelled like a compost pile gone wrong. I spoke to the company at length - they assured me that i could just air it out and use it. True to their word - never saw any issues with it.

Edit: I like Sunshine #4 because it's available in an Organic Certified version. ProMix Organic is unavailable in the state of California.
