This time of year I check my fruit trees every few days for any sign of problems. This evening I came across  the ugliest critter I've ever seen. It looks like a cross between a space alien and a deep sea relic of the paleozoic age. A quick flick of the finger knocked him off.

No room for ugly things in my garden.

Hey Blake... I get those on the citrus, but liked you I don't know what they're called... I use a water/fabric softener mix and spray down the tree, works well for other bugs too... Real light mix though, I usually just eyeball it to where the water turns slightly blueish...

I've been reading up on it. Apparently this is a cottony cushion scale insect. A sap sucker, but easily dealt with.

Wish list:
Galicia Negra, Violetta,
Violette de Sollies, Dan_la's Black Beauty 10, Craven's Craving, Most important: YOUR FAVORITE FIG. A lot of people put emphasis on popular/exotic cultivars, which is great because it highlights some of the better fig varieties; however, I am most interested in the figs our members love regardless of pedigree.
Currently Growing: a bunch of varieties.
