...with all of the cuttings you root?

I don't have a problem with them (yet) since I haven't rooted any in 3 years.  I don't count the cuttings I am rooting now.  I only have about 10 in pots (so far!) and most of them are unknowns since they are old and I have lost the names.

Anyway, I love the process of rooting and seeing a stick start to root and grow into an actual tree!

Do you have plans for the the new trees to be re-homed and adopted out to a new care giver?  I have a couple of people I am going to gift a tree to but that's it for now.  I need them to actually grow for a while first LOL

Last year I was able to root more Celeste and Brown Turkey than I needed.  I found a home for them at a local school.

I would love to trade local Long Island members or people we can actual meet, established small duplicate trees. I often give as a gift established fig trees to people who are willing to adopt and take properly care of.

I have been thinking about this a lot lately.. I have quite a few duplicates & even triplicates (lol is that even a word?) that I plan to mostly gift or trade in the near future.. Right off the bat, all of my local aunts & uncles have a surprise fig tree that I will give them on Easter Sunday most likely.. And then I think I will start to look through forum members wishlists (both here & at ourfigs) and start sending out some PM's.. Of course it would be great to meet some local forum members in person (like PeterC says above) and bring a few fig tree gifts along as well.. Otherwise I'm not quite sure how the heck I will possibly keep this many fig trees! I do not have a real count of the number of trees I have, but I do know that I've rooted 85 new varieties so far.. Considering the fact that I rooted 2-3 of each variety, I think I'm going to be in over my head here lol! I'm loving it though, dont let me fool ya!

Yeah I've been thinking about this too.

I have a few UCD cuttings including Sucrette and Blanquette, and some LSU Scott's Black and I kinda don't know what to do with them. I guess I'd sell them but I'm kind of afraid of shipping someone a tree. I've received trees and know how to do it but I'm a little worried about their safety. Sort of irrational but w/e.

I've gifted so many trees to friends and family - most of whom don't really care much about figs, so I kinda can't dump everything onto them. I also can't keep them. So I don't know? Maybe Craigslist or if anyone sees this and wants a fully rooted gallon tree, PM me...

This is the first year I have extra rooted cuttings and airlayers and have gifted them to family... Mostly Black Jack and VdB... I tried gifting to neighbors but been turned down because there is this "belief" that fig trees grow so fast and wild they cause more damage than good... Doesn't matter how hard I try to convince them that they are super controllable... Oh well, maybe family thinks the same way but don't have the heart to turn you down, haha...

Thanks to my Canadian fig friends for trees I get. For many years now I am almost free from having to root cuttings. I
get their surplus. Likewise I make for them air layers. I do more air layers these days. This season I only have 3 variants
to root.

Peter. I should know by mid may on my duplicates and would love to catch up with you. I can gift you a variety or two that I have after figuring out my in progress offers to people and family :)

I also plan on taking inventory and gifting my duplicates and possibly trading with anyone with varieties that I failed to root or acquire.

I had that problem a few years ago, but now only grow 8 or 10 a year.  I am always running into someone who would like one, especially in the summer after tasting a few figs, so finding homes for them usually isn't much of a problem.   And I only root those I know will do well in our area. 

My trees are all over this county.  Makes me smile when I drive by one and see it doing well.

I should have a Brown Turkey/ MT Etna and a White fig type by then, I will post some photos when they are uncovered. Would definitely meet up and do a trade or gift out.

I give extras to my church when they do fund raising, of course that,s not the figs, (because I just started with them). I've grown lots of Meyers lemon trees, ( super easy ). If your going to send trees to members please do so before the summer heat gets here. I bought a few fruit trees last year and I think they got left out in the heat at some post office along the way, they looked terrible and are just now starting to come back.

The best answer I can come up with is - they make decent barter. I started collecting cider apple varieties this year, and one enabler requested rooted figs in trade. Perfect! 

Plus I can help out friends who's cuttings didn't survive.

I have a few duplicates that im rooting. Celeste, LSU Purple & Alma seem to root fairly easily for me. I am gifting a few but i will still have extras if anyone would like to trade.
