This thread is started a few months late this time about “Annual Wish-List of 6 most desirable cuttings for 2015-16 ". The reason was not procrastination but concern if it really helps since many members have started listing their wish-list under their signature. That is one way of seeking trade opportunity even though wish lists under some signatures are pretty long and repeated with each post cluttering the posts contents but it is not a big problem if it serves their purpose.

There may be some who have been still resisting temptation for such wish lists under their signatures. Let us do one more time this “Annual Wish-List” thread which may provide them a venue for seeking what they are wishing for in the coming season and provide opportunities for making trades. It provides a single place/thread to find out who is seeking what that you may have available and initiate a trade opportunity by contacting the wishlist poster (by PM/email) telling him that you can provide in trade cuttings of X,YZ in his wishlist if he has any available from your wishlist (or trade in any other way).

To make the thread efficient, it is advisable:

(i)... To limit your list to only the 6 most desirable cuttings on your wish-list for the year 2015-16.
(ii).. To have only one post per member with the actual wish-list, keeping it updated (received/ not needed anymore) as required in order to keep your post valid.
(iii).. Trade related mutual discussions should be done outside the thread through PMs or email.

 Good luck with your Wish-List.

Here is my wish-list of six:
1- De La Reina        (promised... thank you)
2- Sbayi
3- Maltese Beauty     (promised... thank you)
4- Olympian             (promised... thank you)
5- Galicia Negra
6- Vasilika Mavra

change; ask what you are looking for in case I have (....or for the cost of shipping and handling if that is preferred).

I have several duplicate trees for trade.  My wishlist includes, but is not limited to (we all know how that goes):
  • Grantham's Royal
  • Noire de Barbentane
  • Petite Aubique (trade in progress)
  • Rockaway Green
  • St. Rita (trade in progress)
  • Vista (received unexpectedly- many thanks)
I prefer using email (the PM function of the forum severely overestimates my ability to follow a conversation between the inbox and sent folder)

This really is a god idea, especially for those like me who find it difficult to simply discard things. I will be far happier knowing that my fall prunings will go to good homes.

Hello everyone, I'm new to the group. I am hoping to get some cuttings from these varieties. Not sure how much I am willing to spend, and I don't have anything to trade since I'm a beginner.. but I'd like to know what's out there! My list is all well known varieties as I'm not that familiar yet with many that are being listed on here, but I hope to learn more through this forum!

1. Violette de Bordeaux
2. Col de dame
3. Ronde de Bordeaux
4. Lsu purple
5. Lsu gold (if closed enough for south east Texas?)
6. Not sure yet! Suggestions welcome!

I live in a hot, humid, rainy environment. Close eyed is probably going to be important. The only fig I have so far is Celeste. It has made me very happy.. but obsessed with finding more varieties! I will be growing my plants in pots for the moment.

Well I've knocked quite a few off my wish list through this forum, so I mostly just want to say thank you  again to everyone who helped me out!! I very much appreciate it as a newbie to figs.

But if you had to twist my arm I'm still looking to trial these (supposedly) super cold hardy figs:

Edited to narrow down to one!! (this forum is so awesome!)
Malta Black!

Thanks to many generous F4F forum members over the years I am very happy with my collection of figs.

My focus is on growing most figs in ground (Zone 6) so I can have a large harvest of figs for family and friends every year.
I am also expanding the number of container grown figs.  More excellent breba producers and some popular late ripening and personal nostalgic figs.

Current wish list;

- Brogiotto Bianco
- Cavaliere
- Nero 600
- CdD Noir
- Florea
- Rimada

This is my realistic wish list, in no particular order: (edited-trades completed on some on my original list)

Pajarera
Socorro Black
Melanzana
Brogioto Nero

and any early season fig I don't have.

For trade, I have left a few first year extra plants left and about 30 varieties in second or 3rd year I might be able to take cuttings from.

Of course there is the fantasy wish list, with Gallicia Negra, Genovese Nero, Ischia Black(FMV free) etc ....

If we are talking about just 6 lets go with:

Braçajote preto, Ohra Tabahanosika, Peloponnisiaka Aspra, Skoura Vavatsika, Tseligato, & Vasilika Sika

I'm currently growing over 220 varieties, but who's counting.  i have over 40 varieties of unknowns that I've collected from zone 6.  These are hardy, in the ground, heirloom varieties. I'll have a bunch to offer in the fall as cuttings.  I prefer to trade :-)

Did I not send enough white figs your way?  Hah!  The figs you sent me way are all doing fantastic, by the way.  I've had to pick off tiny fruits from the LSU gold and black mission to keep them focused on new growth.

As for myself, it would probably have to be the following, in order.

T-1 Preto
T-1 Smith (Accounted for.  I love this forum!)
3    Stella
4    I258
5    O'Rourke (Accounted for.  thanks!)

Alas! I won't have cuttings to trade for at least another year, though I've got a few spare plants.

I'm also new to growing figs and have a few small ones growing right now. I should be able to offer up some unknown Brooklyn cuttings once the tree goes dormant (see my thread on that) and potentially my neighbors fig which still hasn't produced a ripe fig (late ripening), i will have more details on that when i get a fig and we'll try and identify. I am obviously willing to pay for postage and handling for anything offered. These are some of the higher wanted items from my sig wishlist and in no particular order, obviously i'm new so willing to try different types - these just seem to be on Herman's list a lot and his recommendations are always highly regarded.

Col De Dame Gris (purchased from amazing member locally)
Malta Black (promised, thank you)
MBVS (promised, thank you)
RdB (purchased from amazing member locally)
JH Adriatic (promised, thank you)
Longue D'Aout (promised, thank you)

Awesome idea. If you're looking to trade, take a look at my collection in my signature and tell me what you'd like. I'll provide you with photos of the tree, the fruit (if possible), the leaves, and information about both the variety's source and my experience growing it.
I will have enough propagation material for at least one trade for almost all of my varieties, so just ask about availability.

Wish list:
1. Italian 258 (Thank you)
2. White Greek (I think I have it already by the name Stella.)
3. Vasilika Sika (Thank you)
4. St. Rita

6. Takoma Violet (Thank you)

It is tough limiting my wish list to 6 at this point.  So many great looking figs out there....many more than I have time to research.  I have a small but healthy RdB air layer in a small pot that I can trade.  I am not sure what I'll be trimming back with the exception of maybe the VdB, RdB, and Celestial.

1. Galicia Negra
2. Martinenca Rimada
3. Longue D'Aout (Promised)
4. MBVS
5. Figo Preto
6. Smith

The RdB airlayer has now been gifted to another member

For those who are interested....

Just fruits and exotics just opened up from summer.  Already sold out black madeira (or never had any more) and a couple others, but they've got some popular varieties such as Smith, VDB, improved celeste, champagne, and hollier, to name a few.  I've never done business with them, but my understanding is that they're quite a good retailer.  I got REALLY excited about hollier before I killed mine as a cutting, so I might jump on that one myself.  They seem to have a knack for catering to the hobbiest, or so it would seem.

I was fortunate enough to taste one at Tim Clymers Three Fold Farm, So far the Kathleen's Black is one of my favorite, and one I'm super thankful I already have.

In my book it is premier cultivar.

Their website did say shipping would commence again come September 30th. Nothing on the site had a price or availability until just a couple of days ago. Apparently, they decided to start shipping a little early or at least taking orders to ship a little earlier than expected. Additionally, they're showing a few new cultivars to what they had last year. I have an alert set up for when the Black Maderia is available hopefully it's this year. I have a real Black Maderia I would like to compare it to theirs.

I'm searching for just a few varieties this winter as I have a bunch of 1 yr olds that have yet to fruit.

    Malta Black - promised (10/30)
    Florea        - promised  (10/30)

I've heard these are all good in zone 5/6.

    All set for this year.
