Has anyone heard of this one, called Babits? It is still only a baby Babits. I repotted just prior to taking the pic as it had filled the pot and was starting to escape!

I am trying to find out more about the varieties that I have. I want to know about any weaknesses or strengths that they may have. Thanks in advance for any info

Since I am Hungarian, I have heard. The mother plant is (or was) in the garden in the homestead of the Hungarian writer, Babits Mihály. The place is located in Hungary near the town of Szekszárd. Suitable for Zone 7a :)

Thank you very much for that. It is great to know the origins of a plant. Hopefully it should survive here in the UK. Much appreciated!

Thank you so much for sharing the history of this fig with us. BTW, have you read 'The Nightmare'?

Hi Doricdragons, is that Chilean guava that you are growing next to your Babits fig?

It certainly is, eagle eyed Timo. :) I pruned my big plant a couple of months ago and shoved all the prunings into a couple of pots. I have about 36 little plants now, they root very easily.
