Assuming they are Croisic or Gillette.. (they may be called many other names!) their Caprifig function is just to provide male parentage/ pollen for manual pollination on breeding for new varieties. Pollen to be collected from their breba crop, around mid June, when fig female flowers are receptive. There has to be a selected edible 'female' fig to accept that pollen and be the 'mother' . The wasp shall not be involved in this process. It seems to me that this was not exactly what you had in mind (?) Francisco Portugal

How is the pollen transferred in this situation you speak of. Thanks for the info
Take the soft wet pulp and transfer it into the eye of female fig ?

Of course you are not going to transfer soft wet pulp..as there is no pollen on soft wet pulps.. Pollen is more or less dry and it is found on (male staminate flowers) just under the breba ostiole. The pollen is collected and transferred manually. There are various approaches to do it. I would recommend you search the forum as there are a good deal of talk about it This topic may help for a start..https://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/fig-breeding-steps-5200745?&trail=50 also, please read as much as you can from the many Palomar papers on this as well as associated subjects on the life cycle of our carica figs.. I would suggest if I may, this one:..http://waynesword.palomar.edu/pljun99b.htm Francisco
