Thanks for your great video, love it, I am wondering what spray you use for your trees?

I use Surround: http://www.groworganic.com/surround-25-lb.htm There's a lot you can use, but I have Surround to fight Japanese Beetles/many other insects for my apples/stone fruit.

I bet Surround does make life rough for them. When I had the mites I planted a whole bunch of trees and sprayed with Surround for heat stress, and that seemed to slow them down compared to trees that were not sprayed. I sprayed many times while the figs established, 2-3x a week for 2-3 weeks, but the spots/mites still came back. Aphids can make similar spots and I saw some this spring, not as uniform as the fig bud mite though and with more deformities. Unfortunately many trees will not show any typical FMV symptoms after being infected until they wake up next spring. Chopping seems like the best method to deal with that, tough decision to make but if all the buds break sick it the trunk will be runted.
