Yesterday evening I got to taste my first forastera de can reviu, I didn't even know what color it would be until I seen it in Pon's book last week. It was very intense, sweet, and in the same category as Black madeira. The Jack lily was also good but not quite as good as the FDCR. I almost got rid of it because I knew nothing about it but I am sure glad I kept it!

Looks like an interesting fig thanks for posting.   Jack Lilly looks nice too.

I have fig called; forestera c'an revue I assume that is the same fig.  Lots of figlets on it should ripen in September.  I was told the fig is along the lines of CdD but not quite as good.

Well Pino, when I got these cuttings it was mispelled but it is the same fig as in Pon's book so I got the correct t spelling from there. I can't really compare it to cdd because I am not having any luck getting to taste a good cdd, the ones on my cddb are splitting wide open now. All I know is this figs is very, very, good!

Thanks Ryan.  I am hoping to get a few ripe figs this year and will report back how they turn out.

Is Pon's book available on line somewhere?

Thanks Ryan.
I see now I was given the wrong spelling. Forastera de can according to google means "foreigner hound"...LOL
Looks like it may be referring to the source of the fig an area of spain near la marina de llucmajor.

Mine wouldn't compare to col de damas but they are very good, the rain washed out some flavour and the pill bugs ate a ton of the skin.
