Hi guys, this is my very first post in this forum, so any suggestions and advice is very welcomed. The photos below are my fig tree, which I have no idea what variety it is, but it has deep purple fruit. What I want to ask you fig experts are, is my main scarfold limps too long? The main trunk is about 1.5 inch. I want a bushy tree form. This tree is 1.5 year old, and unlike you guys, I'm living in Malaysia, which is tropical, so my fig tree does not experience dormancy. That also raises the question of WHEN i should prune my fig tree.

I am planning to prune the main branches down to 5 nodes but I'm rather unsure if I should do that. This is my first fig tree, so I'm a little overprotective.

Welcome to the forum, MrBird. Your trees look very nice & healthy. I am trying to learn most I can about pruning. You have some good questions.
