I discovered some insects like the one shown in the picture on my brown turkey fig tree. I am not sure what it's doing there? Should I leave it alone or send it on its way? Thanks for any help.

Could be Lygaeus kalmii (small milkweed bug).

I have lots around here and I think its the Box Elder bug. I don't believe they do any damage. They say they like to over winter inside homes and thats whats makes them a pain.
