When checking on them I call the figs by their nicknames (acronyms) usually the first 3 or 4 characters of the cultivars name if name is short then use the full name.

I never thought of naming plants by using the shortened proper name. Cool.

What do I call my figs?

That depends on the time of day. Evening - snack. Morning - breakfast. And so on. :)

When I dropped one on my foot I called it FF.
All kidding aside I number all my figs for the purpose of record keeping and I use a spreadsheet. The name I am given from source of the plant is kept as part of record but not necessarily accepted as correct, I have many same fig different name . At the end of day what is important is how good they do for you

I call them my "Ladies". Good morning ladies. Good afternoon ladies. Good night ladies.  Mommy? Where do figs come from? "From ladies of course!"
