Hi, I don't graft on figtrees since they are easy to root, and generally I propagate material from my own trees. I often stick sticks in the dirt to get new trees. It works really well especially with fresh branches from a tree stuck in March or April - keep the zone moist. I often separate root-shoots on my figtrees - it would be the same for a branch. Just do a ground-layering . The container full of loam will sit on the dirt instead of being in the air as it does when air-layering. If your skills allow, you could easily graft the ground-layer before separating it from the mother plant. I now put my new propagated trees in pots as they are backup-plants or coins for possible future trades . Now, I just need more space for my in-ground trees and all the pots ...
