This is my Tissue Culture plants (2) Hardy Chicago and VDB They are creeping along at a snails pace...........The verdict is, I guess ya get what you pay for huh?? PS the plants are 3 months old (PS NO MORE TC for me) __________________ Cecil (Z 8b?) in the sticks of E.Tx (Elkhart/Palestine TX)

I seen some nice big 6 month old TC FIGS THAT WERE REALLY NICE. WILL TRY TO REMEMBER WHICH MEMBER IT WAS. PUT ON A GROW MAT. REALLY MAKES ROOTS TAKE OFF __________________ RICHIE BONI HICKORY LOUISIANA ZONE 8B WARM HUMID WINRERS ARE VERY MILD LOW 20'S BUT WARMS RIGHT UP DURING THE DAY. SUMMER IS EXTREMELY HOT & HUMID 100 degrees 100% humidity fig tree grow like crazy but some split from rain & humidity Wish list. Col de dame blanc Col de rimada Lsu numbered figs

Hi, Check the roots. If they already invaded the whole pot, do pot up. Keep potting up as soon as roots completely surround the interior of the pot - Add fertilizer, expose the plants to full sun. They will take one year to build their root system and have efficient foliage and stems. But then they may grow fast. 3 months is nothing. Since you started with small sticks, expect to catch up with trees in a 3 years schedule. So 3 months ... well... you probably already read me, but as a reminder: PATIENCE, Patience, patience ... 3 Years ... perhaps 4 to get fruit and that is with good cares. It could never happen if you mess up every now and then (lack of nutrients, lack of water, lack of sun, dog chews the tree, kid breaks the stems ...) ... __________________ ------------------------ Climate from -25°C to + 35°C Only cold hardy figtrees can make it here

I've had good success by almost completely burying a small plant when shifting up. (Up potting). In the spring before leaf growth just bury all but 2-3" of the plant. TC plants do catch up, they just take a little longer! Have faith. __________________ Currently growing 50-60 varieties, this season's cuttings dependant. Hopefully I'll get to taste a few more this year...

I have a DK from WS that I bought in the fall of 2015. It has been a very slow grower but is healthy. Lots of suckering as Denis said. I expect a good year next season. I have a different DK that I started from cuttings winter of 2015/16 which is much bigger with no suckering. I have a 2 YO Texas everbearing from Wellsprings and it is over 8 foot in ground, the second Tx EVB is stil a runt. The big one is bearing fruit, but it is not ripe yet....most pinched off..2 left for ID. These trees are from Agristarts, and the "strains" may not be what the label says. __________________ West Florida (West of the Apalachiola River as defined by the proclamation of 1763). zone 8a winters can get cold for figs...down to 12 F twice in last four years.
